A former Celtic loanee has been told to find a new club on the very first day of pre-season at Boca Juniors.
Marcelo Saracchi returned to training with the Argentine giants on Wednesday but was immediately informed he is not part of manager Rodolfo Arruabarrena’s plans.
Reports in Argentina [via Scottish Sun] state the 28-year-old was pulled aside and told his future lies away from the club, despite Arruabarrena only recently beginning his second spell in charge.
Saracchi has since been placed in a separate training group alongside other players deemed surplus to requirements, as Boca look to move them on during the summer window.

The Uruguayan left-back spent last season on loan at Celtic, where he became a popular figure among supporters after making 27 appearances across all competitions.
Arruabarrena is understood to believe Saracchi does not suit his tactical approach and is keen to free up space in the squad for his own signings.
Saracchi is not alone in being shown the door, with Mauricio Benitez, who has just returned from a loan at Royal Antwerp, also informed that he has no future at the club.
Celtic have retained an interest in bringing Saracchi back to Glasgow on a permanent deal, with Martin O’Neill reportedly keen to reunite with the defender, although no agreement has yet been reached with Boca Juniors.
