Resurfaced BGT clip shows Strictly's Neil and Kai audition with tragic Kerri-Anne Donaldson

It was revealed earlier today that professional dancer and Britain’s Got Talent star Kerri-Anne Donaldson had passed away suddenly, aged 38.

There has been an outpouring of tributes for the young dancer, who got through to the semi-finals of the talent show in 2014 alongside Strictly Come Dancing pros Kai Widdrington, 27, Neil Jones, and his ex-wife Katya.

Performing as part of dance group Kings and Queens, the team was made up of a lot of couples, Neil, 41, and Katya, 34, included, who were still together at the time.

After their first audition the team where they danced a number of Latin American numbers and were awarded four yeses from the judges, Simon Cowell remarked: "We've had some great dance groups on this show over the years, I think it was incredible," fellow judge Alesha Dixon added, "If you don't make it to the Final, I'll eat my arm".

Footage of the incredible audition has resurfaced in light of Kerri-Anne's sudden passing.

Standing on stage dressed in red, there's one moment where Neil hints there could be romance brewing between Kerri-Anne and her dance partner Kai Widdrington.

Replying to Alesha Dixon, 44, who asks what the relationships are between the team, Neil says: "We're married (pointing to himself and Katya), actually we're all like couples, and some are getting closer together."

Kai and Kerri-Anne can be seen giggling together as Neil shoots them a knowing look and Kai grins back.

After their success on Britain's Got Talent, Kerri-Anne became a familiar face on Ireland's Dancing With The Stars, while her friends secured roles on BBC's Strictly Come Dancing.

As news broke of her death many of her friends took to social media to express their shock and sadness at the news.

Neil wrote: "Kerri Anne Donaldson- remember that name and please never forget it because it belongs to a woman who loved to dance, create and perform, she had the cheekiest laugh and a heart of gold, she hated getting in the car with me, but would always listen to my crazy ideas, we shared so many moments and stories and she was always the voice of reason. Kerri you were my friend and like my big sister."

It Takes Two host, Janette Manrara, 39, commented underneath Neil's post, writing: "How sad to see this news. She was a such a lovely person. My hearts goes out to all her friends and family during this time."

Many other Strictly pros added their upset.

Neil Jones cheekily implied there were several budding relationships happening during their time in Kings and Queens (BGT)

Kevin Clifton, 40, wrote: "Absolutely heartbroken. I’ve known Kerri since we were kids and she was always the loveliest girl. A friend and a dance partner. I’m glad we got to dance together this xmas. And that the whole cast of Strictly Ballroom got to work with you in rehearsals. RIP"

"So shocked and sad. Such a beautiful dancer and kind soul! Sending love to all of your family and friends. Heaven has certainly gained an angel. Keep dancing up there lovely," penned fellow dancer Amy Dowden, 32.

Kerri-Anne's death was first confirmed by her older sister, Cara Donaldson, on Facebook, who wrote: "My heart hurts and my world has just collapsed around me.

"My beautiful baby sister is no longer with us and I don't know how to process it. I love you Kerri, you're my best friend, we were inseparable and right now I don't know how to fill the void. Be peaceful and hold Nan tight."

The cause of Kerri's death is currently unknown.
