A historic Glenkens landmark is being restored.
And people can find out more about the repair work being carried out on Balmaclellan’s Old Mortality statue on Wednesday afternoon.
The sculpture depicts Robert Paterson – a stonemason who was immortalised by Sir Walter Scott – and his horse, with a full restoration taking place over the next few weeks.
People will be able to find out more about the work being carried out between 2pm and 4pm during a public information session.
The restoration has been driven by local residents with support from Balmaclellan Community Council.
Zoe Davidson, who has spearheaded the work, said: “We are so grateful for this funding which has allowed us to save Old Mortality.”
