A Mediterranean restaurant with a "Premier League" chef has been forced to close after less than a year.
Zoom Bar and Grill on Woodland Road, Ellesmere Port, launched in December 2021, with top chef Fendy Serdar Gokhan at the helm. Mr Gokhan has cooked for Premier League footballers and Olympic athletes and also has venues in Eastham and Liverpool.
Ahead of the eagerly-anticipated opening at the end of last year, images showed how the vacant retail unit had been transformed into an eye-catching, high-quality eatery. Mr Gokhan revealed he had more than 20 years of experience and had cooked for Everton and Liverpool FC stars as well as being one of the chefs at the Winter Olympic Games in Russia back in 2014.

10 months on, CheshireLive reports there is now a sign outside stating the restaurant is "closed temporarily". A post on Zoom's Facebook page also says it is temporarily shut.
However, its opening hours say "permanently closed" and, in a response to one customer claiming that the venue is for sale, Zoom replied: "Yes on market, few interesting maybe one off agreement."
When CheshireLive visited the premises on Tuesday evening, nobody was present and the building was locked up. Mr Gokhan has previously cooked for the likes of Brazilian stars Roberto Firmino and Fabinho, as well as Turkish international Cenk Tosun, during his time as head chef at the hugely-popular Macello Meat House in Liverpool.
Zoom - a word which is often used in Turkey in reference to a good night out - specialised in a number of steak dishes.
