Republican officials in a Pennsylvania county have selected an attorney facing criminal charges and known for denying the 2020 election results to serve as special counsel in legal matters related to the upcoming 2024 presidential race. Stefanie Lambert, who is currently indicted in Michigan for unlawfully accessing voting systems, has been appointed to represent Fulton County, Pennsylvania.
A voting rights group has called on Pennsylvania’s Attorney General and Secretary of State to remove Lambert from her position, citing her involvement in attempts to overturn the 2020 election results and spreading debunked election fraud allegations. Lambert has been linked to efforts in multiple battleground states and was directly involved in providing unlawful access to Dominion voting systems in Fulton County.
In Michigan, Lambert faces felony charges related to the possession and damage of a Dominion Voting System machine, as well as permitting unauthorized access to voter data. She has pleaded not guilty, and her trial has been postponed until after the upcoming presidential election.
Lambert declined to comment on her role in Fulton County, citing attorney-client privilege. Notably, one of the Fulton County commissioners, who was recently ordered by the Pennsylvania Supreme Court to pay $1 million in fees for allowing third-party access to voting machines after the 2020 election, currently serves as the chair of the Fulton County board of commissioners.
