Republica and Toploader to headline festival within stunning Rivington Terraced Gardens

A music festival within the stunning backdrop of Rivington Terraced Gardens will be held next month.

Last year's Rivington Music Festival was cancelled amid Covid uncertainty but organisers have managed to tempt headliners Republica and Toploader to return to play on the weekend of July 16 and 17. Other acts on the bill include Good Foxy, Design Rewind, and Jeramiah Ferrari.

As well as the music, there will be a range of food and drink stalls, as well as a VIP bar - which is new for this year's edition of the event.

Andrew Suter, projects manager at Rivington Terraced Gardens, said: "It's incredible to welcome people back because it's been a long two years. We'd worked out a way to do it last year with protective bubbles and all sorts and it was due to take place just after all lockdown measures finished but then it got extended until the day after the festival so that killed it really.

"We've had Republica and Toploader booked for two years now because they agreed to come in 2020 and we haven't been able to do it so a huge thank you to both bands for sticking with us and coming back. It's going to make it a special evening for everybody.

"With the terraced gardens being on Winter Hill, it's a huge logistical task putting the event on. We rely on about 100 volunteers and it's a huge team effort to put it together.

"When it does come together it's an incredible venue. It was built for entertaining over 100 years ago so to bring that back is absolutely fantastic.

Weekend tickets are priced at £27 for adults and £12 for children, while day tickets are £15 and £7 respectively. Tickets are available to buy from the event website.
