The Republic of Ireland are in action for the first time in 2023 as they host Latvia in a friendly match at the Aviva Stadium tonight.
It’s likely to be a somewhat more low-key event in Dublin than when Ireland were sealing a Six Nations Grand Slam at the same stadium last Saturday, but Stephen Kenny will be keen for his side to find some winning form before the focus turns to serious business.
The Irish host France on Monday night in their opening Euro 2024 qualifier, with matches against the Netherlands, Greece and Gibraltar to come later in the year. The top two teams in Group B will qualify for the tournament in Germany next summer.
