Republic Day serves as a moving reminder of India's transformation into a secular, democratic, and sovereign nation. This day, which is observed on January 26 every year, is very important because it commemorates the day the Indian Constitution went into force in 1950. On this day, we led to our independence from British rule, and the committee led by Dr. BR Ambedkar drafted a new constitution. The Indian Constitution, which reaffirmed India's status as an independent republic, went into force on January 26, 1950. The Indian National Congress issued Purna Swaraj, the proclamation of India's independence from colonial rule, on this day in 1930, which is why January 26th was selected as the date.
This year's Republic Day theme, "India - Mother of Democracy" and "Viksit Bharat," honours India's development as a democratic country.
