Report: Vikings WR Jordan Addison pleads guilty to a lesser charge

According to numerous reports, Minnesota Vikings rookie wide receiver Jordan Addison has agreed to plead guilty to a lesser charge for his July 20 arrest.

ESPN’s Kevin Seifert reported that Addison will agree to a misdemeanor speeding charge. As a result of the agreement, Addison will pay a total of $686 in fees and fines, and his second charge of reckless driving will be dismissed.

Addison was originally cited by a Minnesota State Patrol officer on July 20 for driving 140 mph on a St. Paul freeway. He was charged with reckless driving and speeding.

“I made a mistake and used poor judgment,” Addison said in a subsequent statement. “I recognize and own that. I am going to learn from this and not repeat the behavior. I am truly sorry.”

Addison was selected by the Vikings with the 23rd overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft. Although he’s just a rookie, the Vikings will likely expect Addison to contribute immediately, especially after the Vikings chose to release veteran wide receiver Adam Thielen.
