According to Darren Wolfson of SKOR North, the Minnesota Vikings and tight end T.J. Hockenson have initiated discussions regarding a potential contract extension. This development was revealed during an episode of Skor North.
“The Hockenson extension talks are off the ground. I don’t think it’s imminent or anything like that. I still think it eventually happens, but those talks are definitely off the ground”
Last season, during the NFL trade deadline, the Vikings engaged in a trade for Hockenson, who wasted no time in making a significant impact. He recorded 60 receptions, 519 yards and three touchdowns in just 10 games.
Considering the second-round pick that the Vikings surrendered for him, it is not surprising that they are eager to secure Hockenson’s services for the long haul. As a young and rising tight end in the league, he has the potential to elevate an offense and provide a reliable target for the starting quarterback.
While contract negotiations can sometimes be prolonged, the Vikings have conveyed their intentions to include Hockenson in their long-term plans.
