UPDATE: After trying to trade up and back into the first round of the 2023 NFL draft last night, it appears the Tennessee Titans are now trying to trade up in the second round (READ MORE HERE).
The Tennessee Titans were reportedly looking to trade up into the late first round following their initial selection at No. 11 overall in the 2023 NFL draft, which was Northwestern offensive tackle Peter Skoronski.
The news comes from ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, who reports the Titans were one of four teams trying to grab a late first-round pick, along with the Atlanta Falcons, Los Angeles Rams and New England Patriots.
The key thing missing from Fowler’s report is who the Titans were trying to trade up for, but if we had to guess based on need, it could’ve been for a wide receiver, which is currently the team’s No. 1 priority going into Day 2.
But could the Titans have possibly been looking at a quarterback in that spot? We can’t say for sure, but if so the most likely targets would have been Tennessee’s Hendon Hooker and Kentucky’s Will Levis.

Earlier this week, ESPN’s Todd McShay named Hooker as a player to keep an eye on for Tennessee if they were to trade back from No. 11. There were also multiple reports stating the Titans might have interest in Levis.
After missing out on C.J. Stroud, Titans fans have pretty much accepted the fact that Ryan Tannehill will be the starter for one more year, but a pick of Hooker or Levis could make things much more complicated.
On Day 2, the Titans are slated to pick at No. 41 overall (second round) and No. 72 overall (third round), but after seeing this news from Fowler, perhaps we should prepare ourselves for things to change.
