Report: Titans ‘not in it’ for L’Jarius Sneed trade ‘at this point’

If you were hoping that the Tennessee Titans would be able to pull of a trade for Kansas City Chiefs cornerback, L’Jarius Sneed, things reportedly aren’t looking great at the moment.

According to Titans beat writer Paul Kuharsky, Tennessee is “not in it” for Sneed “at this point.”

The last part of that sentence is important to note, as the Titans didn’t seem to be one of the finalists for wide receiver Calvin Ridley before general manager Ran Carthon swooped in to sign him.

Of course, this is a different situation, as not only do the Titans have to give up draft capital for Sneed, they would also have to sign him to a lucrative, long-term extension.

According to ESPN’s Stephen Holder, the holdup with a Sneed trade in general has to do with the contract extension part and not the actual compensation in a trade.

It isn’t clear exactly what the Chiefs are looking for, but I’d guess a second-round pick, something Tennessee can ill-afford to give up, especially when you consider they don’t have a third-rounder.

Ideally, the Titans give up a Day 2 selection from 2025 in such a deal, and if it takes someone like Treylon Burks to put a deal over the top, sign me up.

Perhaps the Titans knowing the Colts are involved will get them a bit more motivated to pull something off.
