The Pittsburgh Steelers defense took a big hit on Saturday when outside linebacker T.J. Watt was forced to leave the game after suffering a knee injury against the Baltimore Ravens. Watt banged into teammate Montravius Adams on the play and could not return. The Steelers beat the Ravens 17-10 and still have a path to the playoffs.
According to ESPN NFL reporter Adam Schefter, it is believed Watt suffered an MCL sprain. Schefter said the team plans to do further testing but characterized it as the best-case scenario if the Steelers should sneak into the playoffs.
The only thing head coach Mike Tomlin would say after the game was that Watt was being evaluated for a knee injury. Watt had a huge game with eight tackles and two more sacks to finish with a league-leading 19 on the season.
Pittsburgh now must wait and see how the rest of the games play out before they know if they did enough to get into the playoffs.
