The Raiders are placing defensive end Chandler Jones on the non-football illness list, according to a Wednesday afternoon report from Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.
“The team has stood behind him and no one has ruled out a return if his situation improves,” Rapoport wrote.
Jones, 33, has attracted attention this offseason for several bizarre social media posts, a few of which directly criticized Las Vegas owner Mark Davis, general manager Dave Ziegler, or coach Josh McDaniels.
On Sept. 5, Jones slammed the Raiders on his Instagram story, alleging that the team prevented him from working out at its facility.
“F--- it, I don’t wanna play for the Raiders if that’s my HC, or GM,” he wrote.

The next day, Jones took to his story to relate that Las Vegas sent a crisis response team to his residence.
Jones, a four-time Pro Bowler with the Patriots and Cardinals, has been inactive for both of the Raiders’ first two games against the Broncos and Bills.
