Report on second Metro corridor given to govt

LUCKNOW: A detailed project report on the proposed second corridor of Lucknow Metro was submitted to the state government by Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (UPMRC) on Friday. The proposed East-West Corridor will run from Charbagh to Vasant Kunj in the Old City.

The total route length will be 11.16km. It will have 12 stations - seven underground and five elevated. The corridor will be ready in five years. The route will provide connectivity to prominent places of Old City such as Aminabad and Chowk.

It will also connect other congested areas and provide accessibility to the people of Lucknow. The Charbagh station will act as a junction for both the corridors - the functional North-South and the proposed East-West.

The depot of this corridor will be constructed at Vasant Kunj.
