If there was one glaring issue this year for the Buckeyes, it was the cornerbacks. It was a trying season for this group, as none of them registered an interception, costly penalties were called on them in high pressure moments and they got burned, either not making the tackle or getting “mossed.”
It makes plenty of sense that Ryan Day would look to the portal for immediate help and after yesterday’s madness, Ohio State has emerged as a contender for former Virginia cornerback Fentrell Cypress II according to a report by 247Sports Steve Wiltfong. Cypress II was at the top of my list for targets as the easiest way for this group to have instant improvement is through the portal. Even though he wouldn’t be able to help during the College Football Playoff run, Cypress II would be a welcome addition to the cornerback room.
