Report: Odell Beckham Jr. won’t be fully healthy until October or November

Odell Beckham Jr. suffered a devastating injury in the biggest game of his career, tearing his ACL in Super Bowl LVI. He had already caught two passes for 52 yards and the opening touchdown of the game, appearing destined for a massive performance against the Bengals.

But because of that knee injury, Beckham is still a free agent and most likely will not be ready for the start of the season. According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, Beckham likely won’t be healthy until October, if not November.

“Beckham could take his time here because talking to teams, they don’t expect Beckham to be healthy until October or maybe even November, as far as ‘full-go’ back from that ACL,” Fowler said on “Get Up,” as transcribed by Bleacher Report. “So Beckham can take his time, maybe even wait until the first couple of weeks of the season, see who’s hot, who needs a receiver. He will likely go to a contender.”

That last part is interesting, with Fowler speculating that Beckham could remain a free agent all offseason. He won’t be able to participate fully in training camp or the preseason, so it’s not as if he needs to be with a team before then.

Like Fowler said, Beckham can just wait until the best opportunity arises and pick his team then, even if it’s in September. The Rams probably don’t want to hear that, and even though they’re optimistic they’ll get a deal done, they’d likely prefer to get that done sooner rather than later.
