Report: Luka Doncic Receives Positive MRI Results on Thigh

The results of the MRI on Luka Dončić’s injured thigh came back clean, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, clearing the way for the Mavericks star to return to the court as soon as he is comfortable enough to do so.

Dončić exited Wednesday night’s game against the Pelicans in the second half with what Dallas described as a left thigh strain. ESPN’s Andrew Lopez asked Dončić how he felt after the game to which the 24-year-old responded “not good.”

Dončić logged 28 minutes and recorded 15 points, eight assists and three rebounds prior to exiting the Mavs’ 113–106 loss. Dallas dropped to 34–33 on the year with the defeat and remains in a tie with Minnesota for 7th place in the Western Conference.

Dončić, a four-time All-Star has been magnificent during the 2022–23 season, averaging a career-high 33.0 points per game in 57 appearances. The former No. 3 pick is also shooting a career-best 50.0% from the field while amassing 8.6 rebounds and 8.0 assists per contest.
