Report 'leaks' Leeds United 2023-24 kit change as Adidas adopt ‘Sweden’ design

Leeds United’s 2023-24 kit will reportedly bear a striking resemblance to Sweden’s away colours next season. As anticipated, the home shirt will be predominantly white, introduced by Don Revie in 1961 to emulate Real Madrid.

German manufacturer Adidas are contracted to make Leeds’ kits until 2025 and, as is customary, will retain their trademark “3-stripe” design on the sleeves. However, one major twist may intrigue United fans.

Footy Headlines are claiming the three stripes will be blue and gold, the official colours of Leeds which remain on their club crest. This feature would be unique to previous Whites shirts but draws similarities to Sweden’s away kit.

Also produced by Adidas, the 2022 design could almost pass as a Leeds shirt. A simplistic strip, the Whites’ version would likely have the crest to the left of centre to accommodate the shirt sponsor.

Previous Elland Road heroes such as Thomas Brolin and Pontus Jansson - who earned 74 Sweden caps between them - likely approve of the change. Adidas also supplied Boca Juniors shirts for the 2021-22 campaign, with their away shirt adopting a similar pattern.
