Report: Jaguars to make Trevor Lawrence decision after pregame workout

The Jacksonville Jaguars haven’t made up their mind if Trevor Lawrence will play Thursday against the New Orleans Saints and will make that decision based off a pregame work out, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

“It could easily be a game time decision,” a source reportedly told Schefter.

Lawrence, 24, is officially listed as questionable for the Week 7 matchup after injuring his left knee in the final minutes of the Jaguars’ 37-20 win against the Colts on Sunday. While an MRI reportedly showed a “very minor injury,” the short turnaround to a Thursday night game hasn’t left much time for healing.

During the team’s only full practice session of the week, Lawrence wore a knee brace that he called “not comfortable, in general.”

Despite the short week and limited practice time for Lawrence, many of his teammates aren’t convinced he’ll sit out. The third-year quarterback hasn’t missed a game in his NFL career and backup quarterback C.J. Beathard said Tuesday that “it’s still very likely” that Lawrence is under center against the Saints.

Either way, with Lawrence banged up, the Jaguars signed quarterback Nathan Rourke from their practice squad to the active roster Wednesday.
