Report: Jags Agree to Three-Year Extension With DL Robertson-Harris

The Jaguars and key defensive lineman Roy Robertson-Harris have agreed to a lucrative new contract extension after a strong second half of the season from the 29-year-old.

Robertson-Harris is set to stay in Jacksonville on a three-year, $30 million extension, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo, cashing in on a strong showing in the playoffs.

Robertson-Harris was set to enter the final year of a three-year contract he signed with the Jaguars in 2021, but the organization moved quickly in order to secure a new deal for the veteran defensive end, keeping him in town for an additional three seasons.

The move comes one day after the Jaguars announced an extension for backup quarterback CJ Beathard

Across his two seasons in Jacksonville, Robertson-Harris has featured in 31 games, starting 30. He played and started in all 17 games this year, and was a force during the Jaguars' playoff run.

In two postseason games this year, Robertson-Harris had 14 tackles, two pass defenses, 1.0 sack, two QB hits, and five tackles for loss.

After turning on another gear late in the year, the veteran is being handsomely rewarded with a well-deserved new contract. He’ll earn $10 million annually throughout the life of the contract, a bump up from the $7 million he was slated to earn under his old deal.

Prior to joining the Jaguars in 2021, Robertson-Harris spent four years with the Bears, where he was picked up as an undrafted free agent in ’16 out of UTEP.

He’s carved out an important role within Jacksonville’s front seven on defense, and he’ll look to prove that he’s worth the pay raise with another big year in 2023.
