According to Pittsburgh Steelers beat writer Mark Kaboly, at least one former Steelers player and former NFL offensive coordinator has reached out to the team about a potential vacancy on the team. Kaboly says that former Pittsburgh quarterback Byron Leftwich contacted the team but the team isn’t interested in making a change right now.
Leftwich played quarterback for the Steelers from 2010-2012. He was the backup to Ben Roethlisberger in Super Bowl XLIII and spent a total of 10 seasons in the NFL.

This whole discussion centers around the continued ineptitude of the Steelers offense and the role of offensive coordinator Matt Canada in the team’s failings. The notion that an available coach would reach out to Pittsburgh like this really highlights just how glaring this problem is.
