Draymond Green will reportedly sign a four-year deal worth $100 million to return to the Warriors, according to Shams Charania of The Athletic. Shortly before the opening of free agency, NBA insider Marc Stein reported that Green was nearing a deal in the $100 million range.
The deal contains a player option for the fourth season, Charania reports.
Green previously declined his $27.5 million contract option for the 2023-24 season. While Green tested the free agency waters, many around the league felt that Green would remain in Golden State.
After the Warriors’ loss to the Lakers in the Western Conference semifinals, the four-time NBA champion told reporters that he wanted to remain in Golden State for life.
“I wanna ride out with the same dudes I rode in with,” Green said.
The 33-year-old returns to a Warriors’ squad that retained its core, which also features Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, and is seeking to compete for another NBA title immediately.
In Golden State’s four NBA title runs, the four-time All-Star played a pivotal role in the team’s success. Prior to signing a new contract with Golden State, Green was linked in rumors to play with Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard in Portland.
