Fans of the Boston Celtics who were hoping to get an idea about how new Celtics reserve floor general Dalano Banton might fit into Boston’s new-look roster this season in the NBA’s 2023 Las Vegas Summer League will evidently be getting their wish.
The Boston Globe’s Adam Himmelsbach reports the 6-foot-9 floor general will, in fact, join the Sin City Celtics‘ roster in Nevada this summer, adding a bit of extra spice to a roster that is to include Celtics floor general JD Davison, Hungarian forward Vincent Valerio-Bodon, 7-foot swingman Reggie Kissoonlal, and several other prospects looking to play their way onto a roster, even if it doesn’t end up being Boston’s.
There had been some speculation the former Raptors guard might sit out summer league given his status as a member of the team’s full roster, but the franchise is likely looking at the opportunity as a chance to help get the Canadian guard better acclimated with the team’s staff and plans for him.
