Report: Cooper Kupp Expected to Make 2023 Debut vs. Eagles

Rams wide receiver Cooper Kupp is expected to make his 2023 debut on Sunday against the defending NFC-champion Eagles, The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reports.

Kupp spent the first four weeks of the season on injured reserve, nursing a lingering hamstring injury, but he was a full participant in practice on Thursday. L.A. is still keeping the 30-year-old on a rep count for now, but barring any pregame setbacks, he is healthy enough to return, according to Russini.

It remains to be seen what sort of usage Kupp will get in his first week back, but regardless, coach Sean McVay and quarterback Matthew Stafford now will get to utilize one of the most effective pass-catchers in the game today.

Kupp played only nine games last season but won the NFL’s Offensive Player of the Year in 2021. In 17 games that year, the former Eastern Washington product registered 145 catches for 1,947 yards and 16 touchdowns, all league-highs.

Kupp now will be flanked at receiver by a rising star in Puka Nacua, who leads the league in receptions (39) and receiving yards (501) as a rookie heading into Week 5. The Rams (2–2) will look to get on the plus side of .500 against Philadelphia on Sunday, with kickoff slated for 4:05 p.m. ET at SoFi Stadium.
