Report: Contenders Emerge to Host Super Bowls LX, LXI in 2026, ’27

With the sites for the next two Super Bowls already set, plans are already underway for the 2026 and ’27 iterations of the big game. And a pair of California cities are throwing their hats into the ring.

Los Angeles is interested in hosting Super Bowl LXI at SoFi Stadium, which would crown a champion for the 2026 season. Rams COO Kevin Demoff told reporters at the CAA World Congress of Sports on Wednesday that the opportunity to slot a Super Bowl in between the city’s role as host of the ’26 World Cup and ’28 Olympics played a key factor in the Super Bowl bid.

That run of ’26 World Cup, hopefully maybe ’27 Super Bowl—I don’t want to spill the beans here, but we are interested—Olympics in 2028, that run would be unprecedented,” Demoff said, per Ben Fischer of the Sports Business Journal.

If Los Angeles pushes all-in for Super Bowl LXI, that would leave Santa Clara and Levi’s Stadium available for the following edition in February 2028, when a champion for the ‘27 season will be decided. Fischer reports that Santa Clara has already been in discussions with the league for that year, which is in less demand due to the United States hosting the World Cup that summer, occupying many of the league’s venues.

Super Bowl LVI took place at SoFi Stadium, where the home team Rams defeated the Bengals in February ‘22. Levi’s Stadium played host to Super Bowl 50 on Feb. 7, 2016, when the Broncos beat the Panthers.

The next two iterations of the Big Game will be held in Las Vegas and New Orleans, respectively.
