Indianapolis Colts running back Jonathan Taylor reportedly requested a trade after meeting with owner Jim Irsay, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network on Saturday.
Taylor, who is entering the final year of his rookie deal, is looking for a new contract. However, it appears he and the team are far apart on his potential compensation, and his contract situation has become and extremely public matter.
Now, it appears Taylor wants out of Indy.

The running back market has crashed significantly this offseason with the likes of Saquon Barkley, Josh Jacobs and Tony Pollard all wanting new deals. Barkley wound up settling for essentially what was the franchise tag while Jacobs is currently holding out of training camp.
Taylor is an extremely talented running back and a valuable piece to the Colts’ organization, but it’s clear the two sides are far apart on what they believe his compensation should be.
We’ll see if this leads to anything in either direction, but Taylor’s contract situation doesn’t appear to be going away anytime soon.
