The Boston Celtics have kicked off their 2022 trade deadline moves in earnest with a deal that sent forward Juancho Hernangomez to the Spurs in a three-team deal bringing back Bol Bol and PJ Dozier from the Denver Nuggets along with $4.3 million in cap relief according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
But Boston might not be done dealing, with new reporting from The Athletic NBA Insider Jared Weiss that the Celtics may be looking to move veteran big man Al Horford in a separate deal. “After spending the 16th pick in the 2021 NBA Draft to acquire Al Horford in the offseason, the Boston Celtics are exploring trading him as they pursue another center,” writes Weiss.
“Only $14.5 million of his $26.5 million salary is guaranteed next season, making him potentially attractive to teams looking to move off long-term money or take on his salary for an additional asset,” he adds.

Dennis Schroder remains another name seen as likely to move by Weiss, with Josh Richardson another name the Athletic analyst suggest might also be on the move before Feb. 10.
