The Eagles are off to Washington after an emphatic 24-7 home win over the Minnesota Vikings on Monday night at Lincoln Financial Field.
Jalen Hurts had his best game as a pro, while Jonathan Gannon and his retooled defense rebounded with a masterful performance against Justin Jefferson and the Viking offense.
Darius Slay was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week after his performance against Justin Jefferson.
With the focus now on the Commanders, here are the grades for Week 2.
Offense -- A+
The running game accounted for 163 yards on 34 attempts, Jalen Hurts had 333 yards passing, and Philadelphia displayed elite offensive balance.
QB -- A+
There’s no perfect football game, but Hurts had his best performance as a pro and quickly erased any doubt.
RB-- B
Miles Sanders was solid again, rushing for 80 yards on 17 carries, breaking tackles, and running hard. The Eagles had 163 yards on the ground after 216 yards in Week 1.
WR -- A
Eight different receivers caught passes, with DeVonta Smith catching seven passes for 80 yards on seven targets and A.J. Brown contributing five catches and 69 yards.
TE -- A
Goedert had five catches, a game-high 82 yards, and was outstanding as a run blocker.
OL -- B
The Eagles’ offensive line held up against Minnesota edge rushers Danielle Hunter and Za’Darius Smith, allowing just six total pressures.
Defense - A
After allowing 38 points to the Lions, Jonathan Gannon and the defense responded, giving up 264 total net yards, and the Vikings converted just 4 of 12 third downs.
Kirk Cousins’s longest pass completion for Minnesota was 19 yards.
DL -- B
Fletcher Cox and Josh Sweat had quarterback sacks, and the Eagles controlled the line of scrimmage.
Philadelphia allowed 62 rushing yards on 11 carries, with a long 17 yards, holding Dalvin Cook to less than 20 yards.
LB -- B
Linebacker T.J. Edwards had ten tackles for loss, a quarterback hit, and a pass defended.
Haason Reddick is still not producing pressure off the edge, which will become concerning.
DB -- A+
Slay dominated when matched up with Justin Jefferson, while Avonte Maddox had an interception one week after struggling in coverage.
Darius Slay recorded two interceptions and had five passes defended, and on Monday night, he had six catches for 48 yards on 12 targets.
