What was already an assumption has become a reality as the Cleveland Browns will be without their starting quarterback for the second game in a row (according to NFL insider Josina Anderson). After missing the game against the Baltimore Ravens, quarterback Deshaun Watson will now also miss the game against the San Francisco 49ers with a rotator cuff contusion.
Cleveland dot com’s Mary Kay Cabot reported that a rotator cuff contusion normally takes about two to six weeks to heal. This is week three for Watson. P.J. Walker will get the start off of the practice squad this week in the absence of Watson after the rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson struggled in his NFL debut in Week 4.
While it was an assumption to assume he would miss this game against the Niners since he has not practiced all week, it is also a safe assumption to think he will be back as the Browns begin their run on AFC games starting in Week 7.
I’m told the #Browns QB Deshaun Watson will not play Sunday vs the 5-0 #49ers, per source.
