This moment has been feared by Cleveland Browns fans as offensive line coach Bill Callahan is joining his son on the Tennessee Titans.
Cleveland dot com’s Mary Kay Cabot has reported that Callahan has received permission from the Browns to interview with the Titans, which is needed to take on a lateral move while under contract. Given the situation of working with his son, Brian (the new head coach in Tennessee), the Browns are not going to stand in the way of Callahan.
As the Browns look for a new offensive line coach, they have Scott Peters already on staff, who has worked under Callahan for four years. The Browns also interviewed former Seattle Seahawks’ offensive line coach Andy Dickerson for their offensive coordinator vacancy. There is a chance they could lure him to come to Cleveland as well.
It is a sad day to see one of the league’s best offensive line coaches leave. But it is now time to move on to his replacement.
