Getting set to take on the Cincinnati Bengals in their Week 16 matchup, the Cleveland Browns will list quarterback Bailey Zappe as their backup quarterback.
Not only will Jameis Winston miss out on starting this game in favor of Dorian Thompson-Robinson after throwing nine interceptions in his last four games, but he is set to be the emergency third quarterback in this game. He entered the matchup questionable with a sore shoulder, and now it looks like the Browns are ready to put him on ice unless it is necessary.
Winston was the emergency third quarterback the last time the Browns and Bengals faced off as well.
Thompson-Robinson will likely start the rest of the way out for the Browns in their lost 3-11 season, barring an injury or vastly subpar play. However, if he does go down with an injury, it will be Zappe to go in for him and not Winston.
