A group of burglars attempted to rob Melvin Manhoef, but they chose the wrong man to mess with.
The Bellator light heavyweight reportedly chased down three burglars who tried to break into his house in Landsmeer, Netherlands, on Monday afternoon. He eventually drove them off the road and smashed into their car window using his bare hands.
Manhoef told Dutch news outlet Vechtsport Info that he took the three men out of the car and pinned them down until the police showed up.
The three men were allegedly seen hanging around Manhoef’s house while he was in Paris, France and had previously attempted to gain entry into his home. It happened a second time, but on the second attempt, Manhoef was there to track them down.
Manhoef, a former Bellator middleweight title challenger and decorated kickboxer, is scheduled to return to action for the first time since his stoppage loss to Corey Anderson in November 2020, when he faces Yoel Romero at Bellator 280 on May 6 at AccorHotels Arena in Paris.
It’s unknown if the incident will impact Manhoef’s plan to compete in the bout.
