Well, the football world didn’t have to wait until training camp for DeAndre Hopkins to give his answer.
Per A to Z Sports’ Doug Kyed, the five-time Pro Bowl receiver is signing with the Tennessee Titans.
The news likely comes as a bit of a surprise for New England Patriots fans considering the Patriots were seemingly in the best position from a salary cap perspective to sign Hopkins to a deal.
But once again, New England will miss out on a elite wideout.
That leaves the Patriots’ depth chart with DeVante Parker, JuJu Smith-Schuster, Kendrick Bourne and Tyquan Thornton as the primary receiving options. The team also drafted Kayshon Boutte and Demario Douglas in the sixth round of the 2023 NFL draft.
Time will tell if that receiving talent coupled with Bill O’Brien’s return as offensive coordinator is enough to save the Patriots in a monstrous AFC East division.
