The Craigellachie Hotel has appointed a new creative director to develop a luxury drinks collection.
Sarah Burgess has more than 25 years experience in the industry and is set to expand her creative remit outside of the whisky world for the first time in her career.
She has been tasked with creating the Craigellachie Collection, at one of the world’s oldest whisky hotels, to represent the reputation the hotel has built around showcasing the best of Speyside and Scotland.
The range of premium spirits and soft drinks aims to delve into Burgess' flavour creation background, which recently saw her lead the development of The Macallan Genesis and collaborations with the likes of Pantone and Sir Peter Blake.
The collection is set to launch in the spring.
Burgess said: “Being involved from the conception of The Craigellachie Collection allows me to inspire and define the creation journey of our line of sodas and spirits.
“As a Speyside local, I’m forever inspired by this beautiful part of Scotland and being able to share our story - the mighty flavour of Speyside goes well beyond our national drink and we’re home to some of the most innovative and luxurious food and clothing producers in the world.”
Piers Adam, the owner of The Craigellachie Hotel, added: “Her guidance and hands-on development overseeing the concepts and product creation for The Craigellachie Collection is going to ensure that the very best of Speyside is encapsulated.”
The Craigellachie Hotel dates back as a Drovers Inn since 1703 and was extended to become a hotel in 1893 by architect Charles Doig.
