Renfrewshire summer camps are a massive hit with youngsters

Youngsters had a great time at the Arc on the Clyde Summer Camps learning about animals and bushcraft skills.

The summer camp, at Finlaystone Park, teaches children the importance of looking after animals, the environment and learning about survival skills.

Norah Buchanan, founder of Arc on the Clyde, said: “The kids spend two and a half hours learning about bushcraft and animal care. The kids love it, we have regulars who come and some actually travel quite far but the majority are from Renfrewshire.

“We also teach cooking over the fire, how to build the fire, build dens and archery. We have seen a big increase in popularity since the Covid restrictions have been lifted.”

The many animals found there include guinea pigs, sheep and Shetland ponies.

The Arc on the Clyde do bookings for families and also can be booked for birthday parties.
