Renfrewshire residents are being encouraged to have a frightfully good time at the special Hallowe’en drive-in weekend organised by the Prince and Princess of Wales of Hospice.
The hospice has partnered up with W.H. Malcolm Ltd in Linwood to offer film fans the chance to see one of their favourite Hallowe’en movies from the comfort of their own car.
Scream, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, Hocus Pocus and The Conjuring will be played at four drive-in events on Saturday, October 29 and Sunday, October 30.
Jackie Malloy, director of fundraising for The Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice, said: “What a fabulous way to kick off the Hallowe’en weekend.
"People pick their favourite movie, get as many people in their car as it will take and simply drive-in to the W.H. Malcolm’s site in Paisley. It couldn’t be an easier way to enjoy a scary movie surrounded by your friends and family.
“People can have a great time while knowing they are helping to raise vital funds to support the hospice in its mission to continue providing gold standard compassionate care to people with life-limiting illnesses and their families.
“Each year, we have to fundraise £3 million to keep our doors open. It costs approximately £13,000 each day for our team of specialist nurses, doctors, allied health professionals and counsellors to provide the very best palliative care to people at the end of their lives or who are living with a life-limiting illness.”
The Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice care for more than 1,200 patients, families and carers each year in the hospice, at home and in the community.
To encourage everyone to get into the Hallowe’en spirit, there will also be a themed costume competition for each drive-in movie, with prizes on offer for the best costumes.
People can book online by visiting www.ppwh.org.uk and choosing 'Events' from the top menu bar.
Each car booking costs £25 per movie and the weekend takes place at W.H. Malcolm Ltd, 2 Burnbrae Drive, Paisley.
