The removal of traffic from Capel Street has lead to a better experience for 90% of those asked in Dublin City Council's latest survey.
This is the fourth consultation that has been carried out by the council over the past 15 months and it gave people an opportunity to express their views and raise concerns. The street has recently been voted the 22nd coolest street in the world.
The consultation process was held between the 17 August and the 14 September with the public being informed of the process online and on social media. 1,371 Leaflets were also hand delivered to businesses and residents in the area with a further 1,260 leaflets posted to premises.

3,189 people made submissions through the Consultation Hub and there were two email submissions. The overwhelmingly majority of people were happy with the new set-up with 51 local businesses on the street itself expressing their views. The council's survey showed that the public were overwhelmingly in favour of the measure first introduced back in May.
Changes that may need to be made include more greening, seating and reducing speed of cyclists on the Dublin city street. Dublin City Council thanked people for submitting their views and said that there would be a new traffic trial on Jervis Street in the next month.
They wrote: "The Traffic department will continue to make changes including a trial next month of making a section of Jervis Street two-way to provide an alternative route for southbound carpark traffic. The changes at Little Strand Street are now complete and in operation.
"We are also working closely with the Parks department on measures to provide greening and seating and altering the layout on Capel Street to reduce speeds.
"A landscape architect is due to be appointed shortly and workshops and initial proposals will follow in the near future .Dublin City Council would like to thank everyone who participated in the various consultations to date and are grateful for the very many suggestions and comments that we have received."

In another survey carried out by Capel Street business owners, 70% of businesses were "unsatisfied" by the traffic ban. Out of the 187 businesses that were surveyed, 140 took part.
The survey was carried out by the owners of Dublin City Comics, John Brereton Jewellers, Louis Copeland and Evans Art Supplies
