A remote bothy in the west of Scotland - accessible by boat - has been named one of the UK's best log cabins.
Luxury travel magazine Conde Nast has just published its guide to Britain's top peaceful secret spots and there's a couple of Scottish entries on the list.
And there's one near the west coast within a reasonable driving distance of Glasgow we might consider for a winter staycation.

Inverlonan, on Ballygowan Farm near Oban, was deemed the UK's best getaway for 'being far away from everyone', while its interiors were highly praised as well as the bonus addition of an outdoor pizza oven.
It's also highlighted as a great destination for wild swimming.
Conde Nast said: "Actually a twin pair of bothies looking out over Loch Nell near the west coast of Scotland, Inverlonan is best approached by boat across the glossy water.
"Inside, all is light due to floor-to-ceiling windows, there’s a kitchen crafted from native ash, and the bed is set on a mezzanine overlooking the cosy living quarters.
"Hosts Lupi and Sanja will provide a Farm to Bothy breakfast hamper, stuffed with local artisan products.
"Spend afternoons wild swimming in the loch before whipping up supper in the outdoor pizza oven."
With Inverlonan, the owners aim to 're-imagine the bothy experience' and say: "Inverlonan bothies are architecturally designed cabins that offer rough luxury, seclusion and the chance to disconnect from the day-to-day.
"The cabins are only accessible by boat, foot or buggy and nestle between ancient oaks overlooking Loch Nell.
"We’ve teamed up with the very best local makers to create food provisions that can be delivered straight to your door, so you’ll enjoy the peace and quiet without having to leave."
To find out more about the beautiful bothies, which start from £200 per night, you can visit the Inverlonan website here.
