Stunning new images show Trainspotting being filmed on the streets of Edinburgh.
Director Danny Boyle’s T2 Trainspotting sequel in 2017 to the original movie was loosely based on characters from Irvine Welsh’s book Porno.
The first film was largely shot in Glasgow but Boyle went for a more authentic approach for the second movie and filmed most of the scenes in Edinburgh.

Actors like Ewan McGregor, Jonny Lee Miller, Ewen Bremner, Robert Carlyle and Kelly Macdonald all came back to perform their original roles, 20 years on from the first movie.
Scenes were shot at locations throughout the city, including Arthur’s Seat, Edinburgh Airport, Holyrood Park, Forth Road Bridge, Scottish Parliament, Muirhouse Shopping Centre, The Cav nightclub, The Great Hall of St Stephen’s, Harvery Nichols, Shrubhill Tram Depot and Regent Bridge.
The much anticipated second movie arrived after year's of speculation.
Doyle said in 2007 that he wanted to wait until the actors due to the script he had in mind.
Ewen McGregor let slip in 2013 that the sequel was set to go ahead and filming began on the streets of Edinburgh in 2016.
Film fans will be glad to hear the second film may not be the last.
Danny Boyle has revealed he is considering adapting another Irvine Welsh novel, The Blade Artist, focussing on the life and times of the character Begbie, played by Robert Carlyle.
T2 Trainspotting was released in the United Kingdom on 27 January 2017, and worldwide throughout February and March 2017.
It received generally positive reviews from critics and was a commercial success, grossing £42.1 million against a production budget of £18 million.
