Reindeer can visit children at home this Christmas with simple hack - here's how

If you have ever wanted to see Santa's reindeer but can't make it to the North Pole, children and parents will be happy to know there is a way to visit them from the comfort of your own home.

This is all thanks to fast food giant McDonald's which is re-launching its popular Reindeer Ready Live Technology in the final days before Christmas.

Free to download on the McDonald's Reindeer Ready Hub, the technology requires parents to submit a picture of where they would like the festive animals to appear. Available until December 25, the software can only be used on smartphones and tablets and you must be over 18 to take part.

Once familiar with the feature, all you have to do is choose a room and snap a photo of the exact spot you want to see Santa's reindeers. Children can witness the magic in real time, as the animals visit your home and feast on treats, reports Wales Online.

Finally, simply wait about 30 seconds for the video to load and minutes later you can enjoy a visit from reindeer to ring in the holiday.

This is not the only festive cheer the chain is providing this year. UK branches are also offering limited edition "Reindeer Treats", which you can pick up for just 99p to leave out for any festive visitors on Christmas Eve night.

McDonald's has also worked with Jamie Redknapp to put together a Christmas audio book. The former Liverpool and England footballer narrates 'The Perfect Christmas List', which tells the heart-warming story of Alfie - a boy who realises the best thing on his Christmas list is simply being able to be with his loved ones.

Reknapp said: "As a dad, I know how hard it can be getting everyone in the car at Christmas, but spending time with the family, wherever we are, is the most important part of the holiday for me, and anything we can enjoy together is always welcome.

"I hope the McDonald’s festive audiobook brings a few smiles on those long drives coming up."
