Dandelion BevEd, an experiential beverage education company, acknowledges a growing cultural awareness around how people engage with drinks and each other. It observes that social occasions today often include a spectrum of hi-, low-, and no-boozy moments, shaped by personal preference and context. Within this evolving dynamic, its initiative, less booze, ALL THE BUZZ!, offers a glimpse into how choice and autonomy can feel both natural and celebrated in shared experiences.
A closer look at current trends reveals how much the social drinking environment has shifted. According to a report from Boston Consulting Group, overall alcohol consumption in the United States declined from 31 billion liters in 2021 to 28.4 billion liters in 2025. At the same time, social occasions have moved toward more intimate, at-home gatherings. These shifts reflect a broader desire for comfort, flexibility, and personalization. "We're noticing a shift in how people approach social moments, with more attention going toward comfort, flexibility, and finding a pace that feels right for them," says Gina Fossitt, founder of Dandelion BevEd.
