Refugee to return to Ukraine after being dumped by Brit who left family for her

The refugee dumped by the Brit who left his wife and two children for her is set to return to war-torn Ukraine after their love story crumbled.

Tony Garnett, 30, and 28-year-old partner Lorna - the mum to their two kids - welcomed Sofiia Karkadym into their home earlier this year.

The family had taken the 22-year-old in after her country was invaded by Russia back in February - and she quickly caught the eye of the security guard.

But after running away with her and embarking on a four-month relationship just 10 days after she arrived in May, the dad has now cut Sofiia out of his life after a series of blistering rows.

The couple's four-month relationship came to a dramatic end last weekend and the break-up culminated in Sofiia being arrested twice in two days.

She was released without charge.

She has been left packing her bags to return to Ukraine after he rejected her attempts to rebuild their relationship.

Tony called things off and said sorry for everything that has gone on and Sofiia's mother Katerina now says she has to return to Ukraine.

Katerina told Tony: "In love, everyone has their own destiny. At first we were not happy, but she said she loved you and that this was a serious relationship. But it is over. We would like her to come home."

Tony, from Bradford, Yorkshire, said: "I'm not heartless. I do feel sorry for her. But relationships do come to an end and this one is over. I hope we can be friends when all this hysteria has died down.

"I talked to her and told her that there was absolutely no chance of us getting back together.

"Sometimes you have to be cruel to be kind. She'll be much better off in Ukraine or if she gets a new relationship, good luck to her."

Soffia told the Mail Online : "I may have to go back to Ukraine because I can't live like this much longer. My family want me back.

"Tony told me that last night. But I don't know what my future will be because my country is at war and things could get worse there.

"I have found England to be such a lovely place with nice people. I feel safe here. But I feel better when I'm with Tony."
