The refs at Neyland Stadium on Saturday seemed to know exactly what was going to happen after Volunteers kicker Chase McGrath drilled what became a historic 40-yard field goal to give Tennessee its first win against Alabama since 2006.
Vols faithful quickly stormed the field and tore down the goalposts in celebration, leaving the poor refs scrambling to get out of the way of the Rocky Top pandemonium that was heading in their direction.
It looked like something out of a horror movie, or like that scene in The Lion King where Simba and Mufasa run from the wildebeests.
It’s quite a scramble for safety.

At least in the snippet we see above, it doesn’t look like the refs make it very far in their quest to avoid the orange-and-gold mosh pit.
Though, we do hope the refs made it out of there safely and can avoid the Knoxville traffic on the way back to the hotel.
Though, by the look of the crowd, they might still be trying to get out.
