Ref David Coote Was PREVIOUSLY Investigated By The PGMOL

Premier League referee David Coote hit the headlines this week after a home video emerged of him ranting about Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp – he’s since been suspended by the PGMOL, however, it’s emerged that Coote had been previously reprimanded for another incident back in 2017.

Referee David Coote Has Been In Hot Water With The PGMOL Before

It’s hard to know if Premier League official David Coote will work in the English league again after his video remarks about Liverpool and their former boss Jurgen Klopp. You can see his uploaded football ranting video to X below.

He’s been suspended with immediate effect by the PGMOL already pending an investigation, but it’s also come to light since that his WASN’T the first time Coote’s has had his collar felt by the Professional Game Match Officials Ltd.

David Coote Was Investigated By The PGMOL In 2017

Nottingham-based ref Coote was also one of two officials that were looked at due to separate cases incidents of alleged misconduct back in the 2017-18 season.

Coote’s was more of a Championship referee back then, and hadn’t yet taken charge of a Premier League game – being on the Select Group 2 List of refs.

It’s come to light that Coote’s was allocated games for the first few weeks of that 2017-18 season – with injury cited at the reason – but it’s since been revealed that he was being investigated by the PGMOL.

The reason for being investigated at this time were not made clear by the body – but there were rumours it was related to a past role be had with a local football association.
