Reese Witherspoon's daughter Ava Phillippe revealed she started the new year with a "pop" instead of a bang as she injured her ankle and ended up in the emergency room.
The 23-year-old shared a snap of herself in hospital with her one million Instagram followers. While she seemed in happy spirits in the chair, she explained the damage she'd done to her ankle from being "clumsy".
She wrote: "Starting the new year off with a bang…well, more like a *pop*…in my ankle. All because my clumsy self tried to hop over a (very large) rain puddle in heels.
"Currently feeling quite blessed to have a superstar friend and ER buddy like @jadensanders_ in my life. She seriously kept me giggling for all the hours we waited & only left my side once to go get us some cozy, dry clothes. Love you, J."
Ava continued: "I will definitely be adding “be gentler with my body” to my list of new year’s resolutions!"
And after asking her followers to keep her entertained with their own resolutions for 2023 while she was recovering, she signed off: "Wishing peace, love, & good health for all of you in 2023."
Her post was met with an influx of well wishes from her followers. One took to the comments section to say: "Sending lots of love," while another wrote: "Hopefully you're ok."
In October last year, mum Reese confessed she doesn't see a resemblance with her daughter despite many insisting they look like twins.
The Oscar winner, 46, and her eldest child are often told how much they like alike, but speaking on Today with hosts Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager, Reese confessed: "She and I don’t see [the resemblance] that much."
And Reese's ex - Ava's dad - Ryan Phillippe was one of the minority who agreed, saying she bears a bigger resemblance to his side of the family.
"Quite often, the interpretation in the media is that she looks exactly like her mom and he [son Deacon] looks exactly like me, but I think we both feel differently about it," he previously shared with E! Online.
