Reece James has sent a message to Chelsea fans hoping he can be an inspiration to them as well as thanking them for supporting him on his journey. It comes after the academy graduate signed a new long-term contract at the club in a swift move by Todd Boehly to tie down key players.
This has already been displayed by the new part-owner offering a new deal for Armando Broja, as well as an expectation that Mason Mount will also extend his stay at Stamford Bridge. Discussing the deal with the club website, Boehly said: "We are thrilled to give Reece a new long-term contract at Chelsea.
"He is an outstanding player and a true Chelsea man, and we are all looking forward to watching him continue to flourish at Stamford Bridge." The England international has been part of the setup since he was six-years-old, breaking into the first team under Frank Lampard after an impressive spell on loan at Wigan Athletic.
