Chelsea continued their recent surge in form under new boss Graham Potter when they picked up a huge win over AC Milan on Tuesday night. While it was a stop-start affair early in the game, it spun on its head after 20 minutes when former Blues defender Fikayo Tomori was shown red for his challenge on Mason Mount in the box.
Jorginho dispatched the following spot kick minutes later before Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang doubled the lead by finishing off a quick move from the visitors. The game could have quickly turned tough in front of a home crowd at the San Siro, but Chelsea controlled proceedings to come out with all three points.
"Overall, we played well," Potter said in reflection of the match. "It was important to get the goal and the penalty and red card changes the complexion of the game. We started to make the ten men count, which I think we did quite well. Overall, we’re delighted with the three points, the clean sheet, and to score two goals too."

The win saw the Blues top the group, something that may have seemed impossible just a few games ago after a slow start to their European journey. While there are plenty of positives, much like the reverse fixture against the Rossoneri, there is also a huge injury concern too.
Defender Reece James went down midway through the second half with an issue sustained to his knee and while he carried on, he shortly had to be taken off. With a busy fixture schedule and hopes of a World Cup place for the defender, the injury could be a concern while they wait on the outcome.
James has since put a hopeful message on social media, saying on Twitter: "Fingers crossed it’s not a bad one. Love for all the messages, I appreciate you all."
Chelsea boss Potter has said the club will know more in the next two days, but until then there will continue to be concerns surrounding the fitness of a player so pivotal to the side.
