For the first time in Thailand, Red Lobster, a popular US restaurant chain, is welcoming seafood lovers into its brand-new Bangkok outpost.
The restaurant was established in Lakeland, Florida, in 1968. Its mission was to provide customers with delicious, high-quality seafood at affordable prices. It popularised the slogan: "For the seafood lover in you."
Over the past 54 years, the brand, headquartered in Orlando, has expanded to more than 700 branches worldwide, including the United States, Canada, Ecuador, China, Japan, Mexico and Puerto Rico. Today, it is one of the largest seafood restaurant companies in the world.
The Bangkok edition, which seats up to 70 diners, officially launched a week ago at Queen Sirikit National Convention Center.
The menu highlights a selection of high-quality seafood, freshly prepared from traceable, sustainable and responsibly sourced harvests. Featured options include Maine lobster, North American snow crab, wild-caught cod, shrimp, scallops, clams and Atlantic salmon.
Signature dishes include live Maine lobster, served whole and cooked according to the restaurant's long-secret special recipe (1,350-1,850 baht), and a Signature Feast, a combination of various popular dishes on one platter.
The menu is enjoyed with the legendary Cheddar Bay Biscuits, the crumbly and moist buttermilk biscuits overloaded with cheese and garlic (150 baht per six biscuits).
Red Lobster is located on the ground floor of Queen Sirikit National Convention Center on Ratchadaphisek Road. It opens daily 11am-10pm. Reservations are highly recommended. For more information, call 062-243-8237.
