The Red Hot Chili Peppers have apologised to fans after being forced to cancel tonight’s Glasgow gig due to “illness”. Anthony Kiedis and his bandmates had been due to play at Bellahouston Park in Glasgow on Friday, July 1.
Fans are being told to hang on to their tickets as organisers try to rearrange the much anticipated concert. Just hours before they were due to take to the stage, the band broke the news on social media.
They tweeted: “Due to illness RHCP will not be able to perform in Glasgow tonight July 1. We are working on ways to reschedule. Pls hold onto your tickets & wait for an update soon. RHCP love Scotland & are deeply disappointed not to be able to perform the show.
“Thank you for your understanding.”
The band were due to finish the European leg of their tour where they’ve been promoting their 12th studio album ‘Unlimited Love’.
We previously told how concert-goers had been urged to expect travel delays with traffic expected to be heavier than normal on the M8, M74, M77 and M80.
